Ezines: Ads
built 176 days ago
Ezines can be a great source of information - if you are subscribed to those that actually cater content, not just ads. Ezines are great places to advertise in, as long as there is a reader base which is reading the issues. Look over the ezines before advertising - are they of good quality, or mainly full of ads, or full of bad grammar, or contain articles that everyone else is publishing? Chances are that people are not reading the ezines unless it has good, fresh content that is helpful.

Advertising in Ezines has to be one of the best mediums for advertising your product, free ebook or website. If you want to reach an audience which is highly targeted and cost effective then advertising in Ezines is the way to go. You can never be accused of spamming as all the recipients have subscribed to the ezine.

Ezines & Newsletters are probably still the most effective way of advertising, since generally subscribers to these publications want to receive them, are interested in the subject matter, and trust the publisher. Like any good advertising, you should target publications with a readership that will likely purchase your product. Generally the publisher will charge for advertising, rates vary depending on readership.

Ezines allow you to test different ads almost immediately, if an ad works multiply that ad across the web for massive profit. With offline publications you usually have to wait 90 to 120 days before you can receive any feedback on your ad.

To conclude, if you can you should target high readership ezines or newsletters, and write and submit articles directly to the editors for inclusion in their ezines. You can ... use free ad options, if available, for another free and highly effective method of promoting your site. However, don't discount paid ads, particularly in the most popular ezines. You'll be surprised at how cheap this form of advertising is, and the effectiveness of these campaigns. Finally, be sure to check out the Directory of Ezines. For a one-off fee you will have immediate access to hundreds of related ezines, and therefore the potential to attract thousands of targeted visitors to your site.

The best way to advertise in ezines is to find the ones that are targeted to your offer, or at least would have some sort of relationship - like a computer optimization ezine might have an audience for sales of computers. Find those that have GOOD content, original, and only a handful of ads. When people have to sift through a lot of ads to find content, there is no point in being one of the ads that is skipped over. Advertise in a top sponsor position or a bottom sponsor ad position, or in the middle of a good article. Don't bother with "classifieds" - they are glossed over pretty quickly if they are read at all, unless there are only 1-3 classified ads (in which case you might do better). Solo ads are quite effective, if they are done well - showing your headline (which had better be good) as the subject, and and perhaps having some type of enticement for the readers to read the ad, as long as the ezine is not considered spam as it can get your site shut down with complaints about the ad.
